Jane Lynch and ex-wife finally reach divorce settlement

No matter the length of a marriage, some couples determine they are better separated than they are together. Couples in Massachusetts understand that dissolution of marriage can be a very complex process. This is especially true for those with a large amount of assets. If the couple did not draft a prenuptial or postnuptial agreement, reaching a divorce settlement could be lengthy and filled with disputes. Moreover, if an ex-spouse is seeking alimony that spouse will need to establish that they are entitled to the amount the person seeks or to any spousal support at all.

A divorce agreement was recently reached between Jane Lynch and her ex-wife. The Glee star and her ex-wife came to terms and were able to finalize the divorce that ended their three-year marriage civilly. Prior to the recent agreement, Lynch's soon-to-be ex-spouse was seeking a large sum in spousal support. It was rumored that she was asking for $93,000 a month in spousal support.

The divorce settlement did provide for alimony, but a more modest amount. It was reported that Lynch did maintain ownership of the couple's home in Los Angeles, which was paid in full by her. The two were engaged in 2010 and married on Memorial Day that same year in Sunderland, Massachusetts.

Although their marriage was short lived, the two were able to part ways amicably. The two determined that they were better apart than they were together. Remaining friends and civil was also important to them because Lynch's former spouse has a 10-year-old daughter. Remaining on good terms was very important for her daughter's sake.

Although parting ways amicably is very desirable, it is not easily accomplished. Some ex-spouses are not able to get along or work together for the sake of their future or for the children involved. In these cases it is important to consider alternative options that could allow the two to reach a divorce settlement.

Those dealing with complex divorce issues should understand that they have options. This will ensure that they can take appropriate action while also preserving their rights and interests.
